Josh Lynas (born 21 April 2000) is an independent young writer, director and occasional actor born in Northern Ireland, Belfast. Since finishing school where he studied Moving Image Arts, Art and Digital Media he has made multiple independent and funded short films. Most recently NI Screen funded short film 'Frankie' (2021) follows a girl with a visual difference and her battle with self-love and discrimination currently on its festival run. As an actor, he is represented by Premier Artists NI. He has worked with BFI film academy attending their craft skills residential as Director at NFTS, Where he directed a short film called 'A Hard Place' (2019) a social realist film about homelessness. Josh has been involved with NI Screen, BFI, Cinemagic and the Nerve Centre throughout his career. Writing all of his own scripts and creating gripping innovating films. 'Lost in Transit' (2020) is a NI Screen funded short that won Best Narrative at Fresh Film Festival. An avid writer, Josh is constantly writing film and television pitches and recently finished his second feature script. A feature adaptation of the short film 'Frankie' and is currently pitching a new teen television drama called 'Call it Love'. which has already got a special mention at Filmmarket Hubs Pitchbox 2022. Josh is one of Belfast's upcoming Independent creatives.
