Clayton Davis is the Film Awards Editor at Variety, the legendary 115-year-old trade publication. There, he hosts the new weekly video series "The Take" with co-host Elizabeth Wagmeister, the weekly podcast "Variety Awards Circuit" and the documentary video series "Doc Dreams." In addition, he moderates various industry conversations with actors, filmmakers and other celebrities. An expert on all things related to the Oscars, Emmys and other awards shows, he's also a fierce and outspoken advocate for diversity and representation in Hollywood and media. He founded and was the Editor-in-Chief of AwardsCircuit.com for 12 years. He's the founder and president of the Latino Entertainment Journalists Association and a member and on the Board of Directors for the Critics Choice Association. He's also a member of the African-American Film Critics Association, Hollywood Critics Association, Black Film Critics Circle and the International Press Academy. Over the course of nearly two decades, he has been a respected media analyst. To date, he has been featured in an array of prominent outlets, including CNN, The New York Times, CNN, Los Angeles Times, FOX, Bloomberg Television, Huffington Post and the Hollywood Reporter. Most recently, he served as one of the correspondents for the 93rd "Oscars® Countdown, LIVE!" pre-show on ABC for the five-hour telecast where he was one of the few pundits in entertainment to predict the upset of Anthony Hopkins ("The Father") over Chadwick Boseman ("Ma Rainey's Black Bottom"). He's been married to his wife Jessica since 2010 and has two children, Sophia and Noah.
