Hansel Porras Garcia (born July 20, 1994) is a Cuban-American actor, filmmaker and writer, currently based in Miami. At age eight he began working as an announcer for various children's programs of the Provincial Radio Station Guamá, and then, continued to lend his voice to youth and variety programs. In 2009 he began studying acting at the National School of Arts in Havana, Cuba, graduating in 2013 with El Público Theater Group, under the direction of Carlos Diaz, playing Gaev in "The Cherry Orchard" from Antón Chekhov. Between 2015 and 2018 he studied Film and Television Production at the College of Cinematography, Art and TV in Miami. As part of the student process he made several short films as a writer, producer, director and editor, of which "Casting" is the most popular, participating in various film festivals, among which the Miami International Film Festival 2016 stands out. In addition to writing the film scripts he later directs, he also wrote the short play "On a pirate night, you can cover your eye" presented as part of the best of Micro Theater Miami, and with alternative performances in Tampa and New York. His short stories "Roxanne" and "The man who became water" were finalists of the Contest "Tell your story to the Latin note" and were published in anthologies of this festival. In 2019 he was awarded at the Festival Cuentomania 2019, for his short story "Funeral". He resides in Miami, where he continues to develop his career as an actor, director and writer.
