Matteo Pirovano is first of all an italian musician. He started studying piano at the age of 3. When he was only 5 years old he composed his first piece, titled "Il Cavallo" ("The Horse"). At the age of 11, after a selection made by Yamaha, he played one of his composition, titled "Pensieri" ("Thoughts") written for piano, violin and cello, at the 37th International Junior Original Concert in Tokyo, as the only rapresentant not only of Italy, but of the entire Europe. Now he is still studying piano and composition at the Conservatorio of Milan, after graduating from classical high school in 2015. Since 2012, he's also directing a little choir of children, now counting 23 elements in it. He has a great passion for italian and english literature (particulary loving Dante Alighieri and T.S. Eliot), music and cinema. He discovered the world of cinema in 2009 and from that moment on he saw about 200 movies. He has a great passion, and a specific knowledge created with years of researches, for director Tim Burton and his gothic, magical and symbolic world. Between his favourite films there are titles as "Big Fish", "Interstellar", "Les Misérables", "The Dark Knight" Trilogy, the "Pirates of the Caribbean" saga and "Mary Poppins". Since 2013 he partecipated three times at the Roberto Gavioli Award, all of them as composer (earning a special mention for the original score with his first work, "Insight") and as co-director ("Insight", 2013) and as an actor ("To the Sun", 2014 - winner of the Roberto Gavioli Award for Best Short Movie). He had the opportunity to try working in this world, finding out that maybe even acting could be a dimension very interesting to explore. He loves cinema because it mixes all his passions, and because he loves creating things, piece of arts. And, above all, he will not be so sad if someone, one day, gives him a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame (or - why not? - even an Oscar).
