Joshua Neubert was born in Erlangen, Germany. He spent nine years of his childhood in Tanzania, where his parents worked in an ecclesial partnership program. After high school, he began studying electrical engineering and received his undergraduate degree in 2015. However, after graduating, he decided to pursue his passion of being a film director and enrolled in the audiovisual media major at Stuttgart Media University. During his studies, Neubert participated in student projects as a producer, assistant director and screenwriter. In 2017, he worked on the Netflix production Dogs of Berlin (2018) as an assistant director. In early 2018, he made his directorial debut with the 13-minute one-shot thriller Overrun (2018), which he directed from his own screenplay. He is enrolled in the Cinema & Television Arts major at CSUF in Los Angeles for the academic year 2018/19, where he is working on his next film project "Revolve".
