Long distance runner Thore Sixten Enochsson was born on November 17, 1908 in Astersund, Sweden. Enochsson won the silver medal in the men's marathon at the 1934 European Championships. Moreover, Thore represented Sweden in the 1936 Olympics in Berlin, Germany, where he finished in tenth place in the men's marathon. Enochsson also won the Stockholm half-marathon several times. Thore died at age 84 on March 14, 1993 in Bandhagen, Stockholm, Sweden.
