John Howard Shannon

John Howard Shannon is an Actor/Director/Writer and retired US Army Infantry Officer with over 26 years in the military. He served two tours in Afghanistan - the first in 2005 with 3rd Group Special Forces and again in 2008 with the New York Army National Guard. He volunteers as an Assistant Instructor with Horses For Heroes - Cowboy Up! New Mexico Inc., a wellness and skill set restructuring program for OIF and OEF combat veterans. Shannon is the author of the short stories "The Jump," "Red Flowers," "The Dirge" and "Brought Low" He recently completed a novel, set in Afghanistan, that challenges the conventional notions of modern combat. Shannon conceived the original story upon which the web series "The Last Prisoner" is based. He also wrote and directed the first episode of that series.
