Majid Majidi was born in Tehran, Iran. He started studying cinema at the Institute of Filmmaking (Bagh Ferdoos) in Tehran (1979). In 1982, he make a short film "Pheasants" (Gharghavolan). Jafari started acting in theater in "Story of Princess" (Ghesseh-ye Malekzad), 1987. Since then, he participate in more than 35 stage theaters as actor.
