Carlos Alberto Mendez Velazquez Is a DACAmented filmmaker born in Mexico City residing in Los Angeles CA since three years of age. Carlos has worked on live television shows, News stations, directed live sports, documentaries and short films. Carlos graduated from CSULB in 2016 with a Bachelors in film and television studies. His filmography has won Best picture awards under campus film festivals, his work has been recognized in a variety of media outlets; such as, Univision, Telemundo, EFE, Uproxx, La Opinion and many others. He has dedicated his filmography to telling the stories of the undocumented community. Carlos is the founder of UndocuCinema an organization dedicated to advocate and support for undocumented artist in the television and film industry, he created this platform to mobilize and bring light to the many artist who find themselves without any support. He is currently working in a new documentary ' Con Mascaras y Sin Papeles, and his first stop motion short film ' Encaged Love' both of these new projects deal with immigration issues under the current political climate. Last year Carlos became a founding member of a new organization called Latinx In Animation (LXIA) , he and a group of other latinx creators came together to help create opportunities for minorities who are interested in a career in animation. Director Statement Carlos plans on creating a film festival dedicated towards enlightening the filmography of undocumented filmmakers in the near future, and help provide scholarships for those DACA and undocumented scholars pursing a career in the Arts.
