Born in Salt Lake City, Utah in 1994, and raised in the suburbs of Boston, Massachusetts, Katya Kaminsky discovered a passion for art at a young age. With a strong background in musical theatre, Kaminsky spent 3+ years touring, performing, and teaching with renowned performance group, The Young Americans. She did two US national tours, and one international tour to Japan with them, and she also got the incredible opportunity to rehearse with Barry Manilow's team in preparation for his farewell tour in 2015. After her time with The Young Americans, Kaminsky continued her education at Emerson College where she received a B.A. in Media Arts Production in 2018, deciding to make film and media her primary focus in life. She spends most of her time directing and producing various projects, and has a specific interest in media and film that is created with the goal of helping others.
