Aspen K Somers began acting with her breakout role of "Earth Mouse" in her second grade production of Mice From Outer Space. Immediately, she knew she wanted to keep performing, so her parents enrolled her in ballet classes and theatre camps. Aspen decided she wanted to pursue acting professionally at age 10 when she and her twin sister were chosen to play the role of Jacqueline Hyde (the daughter of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde) in a regional Halloween production. Prior to this, Aspen had performed locally as a singer, and in various school and summer camp productions, but had never considered acting professionally. Aspen fell in love with acting, and soon won a small role in the local film Gold Men. She continued to perform primarily on the stage, appearing in regional productions of The Polar Express, The Wizard of Oz, and Annie (among many others). At age 12, Aspen began studying at the Colorado School of Acting, and soon booked roles in independent short films such as "The Words You Breathe" and "When the Sun Goes Down." She began working in print the same year, most notably working in San Francisco on the popular tween magazine Discovery Girls. At thirteen, Aspen's career locally began taking off. Within the same month she played Beth Anne Cole in the world premiere production of A Day Not Forgotten, worked on the live-filmed production of What! A Musical, and booked a co-starring role in the series "My Life As A Stranger." She took a short break from film the next year to work on various theatre productions, notably earning raving reviews for her performances in a regional production of Annie and a touring production of The Best Christmas Pageant Ever. At 15, Aspen worked in multiple commercials and booked two feature films, beginning her career in Los Angeles. Aspen continued working on film and theatre throughout the next year; notable roles included Amber in Skin Deep (nominated for Cinefest's Best Picture) and Sharley in Coronavirus, before working as the series regular role of Olivia in Quarantwinned.
