Born for adversity. Just one of the statements that could describe the story of Justin Washburn. Finding his love to create at an early age, Justin began posting to YouTube in late 2010. Doing run of the mill unboxing and rant videos, Justin learned the basics of video editing through the PlayStation 3. Working tirelessly on YouTube honing his craft on the home computer and a school-supplied laptop, he would then be able to afford professional grade equipment that he continues to use today. With nothing more than a basic high school diploma, Justin created one of the fastest growing YouTube channels of 2016 going from 0 to 100,000 subscribers in just 9 months. Working on his channel Stuff With Scout Fly and collaborating with popular animation channel, Channel Frederator; this is where Justin would start to see his hard work pay off. Justin would work on both of these channels for the better parts of 2016 and 2017 until he would suddenly stop as this is when his life would begin to spiral downhill. Commonly referred by Justin as being in The Sunken Place. A place where you are not in control of your life. This would go from December 2017 to early 2020. Unable to create, be stable; in every sense of the word... he was lost. Gaslit, lied to, mistreated, cheated and falsely accused, Justin used this as a means to drive himself to new heights. It wouldn't be until late 2020 where Justin would start to create again, now choosing TikTok as his platform of choice. With a new sense of life and drive to create content in a new way he has begun to reclaim his life on his own personal road to redemption. Creating short form documentaries, comedy skits and informational videos about his biggest passion, music. Taking back the Scout Fly name, Justin is driven by his loyal supporters in creating a community the only way he has only known how, being real. Building a platform through transparency, honesty and dedication to his craft; Justin is proof that no matter how far you fall or how deep in The Sunken Place you may be, you must continue, you must push on. Because when you pull that motivation to get where you need to be from yourself, no one can stop you. Following the motto "what is real will prosper" he is proof that if you work hard, your dreams will turn into reality.
