Dominic Stewart is a Brooklyn based filmmaker from Northern California. He has directed multiple award winning shorts, including the horror comedy The Brother the Witch and the Landlord and Ride to Remember, a somber exploration of sex, race, and class. He received his M.F.A. in Filmmaking from New York University's Tisch School of the Arts and his B.A. in English from Morehouse College. Upon finishing his undergraduate studies Dominic entered into the corporate world, but after four years he decided to take what he'd learned and pursue his love of filmmaking. Eventually, he attended and graduated from NYU's graduate film program and has continued to hone his craft ever since. Dominic grew up yearning to tell impactful stories and has a particular passion for fantasy and science-fiction. He is even more passionate about issues of equity and social justice and feels that combining those messages with genre storytelling is an elegant solution to delivering challenging truths. He has recently become a father and can often be found holding impromptu dance parties with his newly arrived daughter.
