Andree is an actress and self-taught script writer who has won multiple awards for shorts films on the film festival circuit. Andree is USA born with 75 % West African descent. She lives in Washington, DC. She has overcome many obstacles. As a child, she used the arts as a way to escape the trauma. She would easily get lost in the life of someone on screen or a character in a book. While being temporarily disabled she was forced to continue the literary works that she began prior to her accident. In 2010 she wrote her first successful stage play. She caught the acting bug after a cast member bailed out and it was too late to re-cast a lead role in one of her stage plays. . Andree took that debut role by storm thus opening the doors to more roles. In 2016, she was introduced to TV and Film. Understanding that there was a big difference between theater and TV/Film, she honed in on her craft and began taking lessons, watching videos and following actors such as Viola Davis, Lynn Whitfield, Angela Bassett, Phylicia Rashad, Loretta Divine and many more. Although shy by nature, she bursts with enthusiasm when it comes to stage and film. Not only has she appeared on stage, in several re-enactment shows, short films, web series, and features: but she has written, produced, and directed several films, in which she finds joy in doing. She believes that storytelling can bring about great healing. She takes her craft seriously while continuing to make investments in herself. Acting is her first love. She has truly learned the meaning of "validate yourself". She takes pleasure in collaborating with other creators on various levels. Andree launched a small production company in VA where she assists aspiring filmmakers with writing, casting and network resources in the independent film industry. She believes that one is never too old to live out their dreams and she desires to bring forth every ounce of herself, taking nothing for granted. One of her sayings is " The World of Art is a huge domain, yet, there is room for everyone; when the right moment comes, Grab It...." Andree always wanted a big family, so she gave birth to two children, adopted 3 and became permanent guardianship of 4 ( great-nephew and three great-nieces.) all of whom she is raising as her children. A few of the children have had complex care issues and she has lost many jobs because of her "Family First" values. When she is not working in the arts, she is enjoying her children and supporting the Just 4 Us Foundation, a non-profit 501 (c) 3 organization, founded in 2009 who's mission is to improve and impact the quality of life for children with special needs, at-risk youth and families. She also takes pleasure in writing inspirational books.
