Alicia Rose hails from Avalon, New South Wales, the activewear capital of Australia. The daughter of an eclectic, hilarious, art historian mother mother and deceptively charming con-man father she often wondered on the mysteries that lied behind other peoples normal looking exteriors. Inspired to create stories that shine a new light on overlooked and under-appreciated everyday moments and people, she utilises a flair for character based, situational storytelling. Believing in a holistic approach to filmmaking, Alicia ensures that each project is as collaborative as possible from concept through to post production. To this end, in order to fully partake in stories evolving through collective effort, creativity, and skills during the filmmaking process, she dedicated herself to also becoming a director. Her directorial debut short film THE WAVE screened widely on the international festival circuit before being picked up for distribution by US based Hewes Pictures. At 37, Alicia lives with her family in Ettalong Beach and is unofficially credited with keeping the pasta industry alive during the great carbohydrate diet deficiency of this century. Her latest screenplay ROADSIDE was recently awarded Semi Finalist at the 2020 Austin Screenplay Awards.
