Jiaojiao Yao is a PhD candidate of Linguistics. Besides academic researches, she is also very into art. She was born and raised in China, and has lived in Cuba, Spain, Kuwait and Portugal. She speaks Mandarin, Cantonese, English, Spanish and Portuguese fluently, and has some knowledge of French, Arabic, German and Finnish. She is also a Pipa (a Chinese traditional musical instrument) player and Salsa dancer.
