Corey Semple

Corey Semple is an American actor and writer. Born on May 18, 1992 in Santa Rosa, California, he is the youngest of two and of Chinese and Irish ancestry. Both parents were software engineers. He has had a deep fondness for film ever since he was small, and spent the majority of his teenage years gathering an eclectic taste in every genre. Following high school graduation, he studied theatre at College of Marin and eventually dropped out entirely to focus on providing for himself. After several failed retail jobs and finding himself on a metaphorical ledge, Semple discovered a new summons in the form of a background casting call for the second season of the controversial Netflix series 13 Reasons Why (2017), of which he states "saved his life". About halfway through production, he received his first film appearance as background in the Marvel Cinematic Universe entry Ant-Man and the Wasp (2018). Following this, the opportunities began piling up and following completion of earlier mentioned series' third season, Semple began obtaining speaking roles in student and independent films, as well as taking scene study courses at the San Francisco branch of the Beverly Hills Playhouse. His appearances are scattered throughout different genres, i.e. science fiction (The OA (2016)), romantic comedy (Always Be My Maybe (2019) and Jexi (2019)), soap opera (A Taiwanese Tale of Two Cities (2018)), murder mystery (Mud Flat Murders) and musical (tt10314462). In early 2020, Semple took his creative abilities to another level when he wrote, directed and shot a short segment for the horror film Ted Bundy Had a Son. He is working on a few feature-length screenplays, including a supernatural WWI romance and a contemporary serial killer horror. From September 2017 to January 2020, Semple operated a highly subscribed YouTube channel, where, towards the end of 2019, he had been uploading life stories.
