Marcell Hertz is a Director, Video Editor, and Writer based in the Midwest. He earned his Bachelor's of Arts Degree in Film from Wayne State University and a Masters of Fine Arts Degree in Film Production from Full Sail University. In 2013 while studying at Wayne State University Marcell wrote, directed, and edited his first film Time Heals All a short thriller. He would go on to write, direct, and edit 4 short thrillers during his undergraduate career. Marcell worked as a first assistant director with a crew of 6 on his undergraduate thesis film Pride about a young girl coping with her dad being gay. While attending Full Sail University Marcell wrote and directed a mocumentary about backyard wrestling titled Beyond the Yard: The Mr. Famous Story. At Full Sail University, Marcell collaborated on over 6 short films as a production assistant, script supervisor, and video editor. He worked as an editor on a web show titled One Heck of a Show. He directed and edited his cohort's thesis film Looking for Me a family film about a young boy in search for a place to fit in. As director and editor for Looking for Me, Marcell led a crew of 56, the film is now preparing for its film festival run. As a video editor, Marcell has worked on sizzle reels for PBS that was used for live music concerts and television advertising spots. He's worked as a video editor on 7 short films, 2 film trailers, and 2 music videos. He's written 6 complete short screenplays and a feature screenplay that's in development. Marcell's motivation for filmmaking is to be better than he was yesterday. Every day he dedicates himself to becoming a better Director, Video Editor, and Writer.
