NayTarsha aka Nay or Nay Renee started acting and performing at the age of three, her road to success as an actress spans across several cities, beginning in Massachusetts and stretching to Michigan. In Detroit her remarkable talent at an early age was discovered by Mr. Jim White (Stars of Tomorrow Talent Search) her and her stepfather played the roll of the comedic ventriloquist act Willie Tyler and Lester for his "Motown Review" at the Fox Theatre. Now possessing a stronger acting resume and more drive than a Bugatti's Veyron, NayTarsha is prepared for a promising career in acting, writing and directing. Her last leading role was the leading role in a Vanessa Lynn Stage Play entitled Soul Custody, she continues to work with Ms. Lynn on other stage performances as well, she co-starred and directed the two-women stage-play entitled "In the Continuum" with Heather Kyles (local actress and comedienne), the production took place at The Artist Village Theatre in Detroit in which she played 5 different characters. NayTarsha has directed several stage-plays and is the proud owner and CEO of Berry Good Entertainment. In 2014 Naytarsha transitioned into internet radio when she connected with SVmixMedia (Ramon Mr. NizGuy Burnham) there she transformed into Nay Renee and hosted her own radio show, The Nay Renee Show, which aired on Wednesday nights 9pm to 11 pm on SVmixRadio. In 2015, the company collaborated with SVmixMedia, Playin' Around Theatre Co. and 12th Street Entertainment, a collaboration rightfully called "Theatre Junkies". In March of 2015 Theatre Junkies launched their theatre season with the critically acclaimed stage play "Ham & Judah" after which she went on to write and direct her first gospel stage play entitled "In My Father's Footsteps" which she wrote in collaboration with her brother Geno (the poet) Smith. After the success of "In My Father's Footsteps", she decided to take a break from writing and went back into working behind the scenes working with young children teaching the fundamentals of theater at her new school Shining Stars where she works closely with her partner Demetria Metcalf. This duo works with fellow churches and their congregation members young and old who are eager to learn theater throughout the Metro Detroit Area, to bring theatrical stage plays and to help launch theater as ministry. She recently joined the Detroit Lighthouse Community Theatre's (Ladene Lewis) phenomenal team as director and co-lead of the fabulous stage play "Lillie's of the Field". She has also joined The Mystic Murder Mystery Company and has been performing an intense run of the murder mystery "Murder at the Carver High 20 year Reunion". NayTarsha has just written another stage play highlighting the life and times of Jackie "Moms" Mabley, Billie Holiday, Nina Simone and Pat Rainey in a stage play called "Gotta Love You Till I Die", which was a sold out performance held at The International Institute in Detroit, MI. Through her company, (Berry Good Entertainment) NayTarsha plans to bring the best actors/actresses Metro Detroit has to offer to the Performing Arts Industry through phenomenal stage performances and her teaching ability of the fundamentals of acting with acting workshops, private lessons and her directing ability.
