Star Noorbakhsh

Star Noorbakhsh was born in Kermonshah, Iran to parents Ahamad Noorbakhsh and Shirin Noorbakhsh. She and her mother and brother came to the U.S. following the Iranian revolution and subsequent war between Iran and Iraq. From there, she grew up in New Jersey. Moving around a lot, she quickly learned to become a people person, making her a sponge to study the behaviors of others. Reading became her number one companion from an early age, and she had a book in hand for as long as she can remember. This gave her a love for writing and story telling. While in school, she love drama class and became involved in the art of acting which she had already admired due to her father's background in theater and filmmaking. Later, she fell in love with filmmaking, but due to a lack of opportunity she could hardly work. Subsequently, she decided to write her own film scripts in order to break in to filmmaking. In the years it took to complete her film scripts and learn the art of filmmaking, Star worked as a fashion editor and journalist for various magazines. Today, she is working as a director, writer, and actor.
