Jai grew up in the small town of Kamloops, B.C. Canada and started performing at a very early age. His fervent advocate, his mother Yvonne (1930-2018) recognized his talents right away and insisted that rather than play Hockey he be enrolled in dance and theatre. It was during this time that he began to shine in every production in which he was involved, and was most always cast as the lead or supporting lead. This continued throughout his public school years where he won many awards for both Junior and Senior actor in BC drama festival's. After the divorce of his parents which had a huge impact on him, he moved to Vancouver to live with his mother and to continue his studies. However this didn't work out as planned when a well paid job was presented to him and a move back to Kamloops was necessary. In the early 80's dream job came his way and he was offered something that would allow him to continue performing at night and allow him to teach his second passion "water skiing" by day. And off to Club Med he goes. Cue the love of his life Sandy who went the resort in the Bahamas as a guest where he was working. Immediately smitten he left Club Med after 2 years and moved to Connecticut where they married just 8 months later. Connecticut is close to New York and he thought this would work out well for his acting pursuit, however life has its turns and Sandy became pregnant with the first of their 2 beautiful children a short time after they were married. "kids are needy and need food on a regular basis" so starving actor new father just wasn't in the cards. Fast forward to 2017 after a successful sales career (everyday was an act) with a fortune 500 company and subsequent training as a yoga teacher and studio owner (which he still teaches at and operates with his wife of 36 years) it was time to get back to career one! Jai is constantly training one on one with some of Vancouver's finest actors and coaches, and has appeared in over 20 independent and student films as well multiple TV series episodes. He's always enjoyed the lighter side and comedic roles however has recently discovered the thrill of some darker roles. To be continued...
