Zanin Lindsay is a NYC-based Cinematographer that specializes in translating your intangible concept into a tangible reality that will connect with your audience. By streamlining the image-making process in a collaborative and engaging atmosphere, he helps in creating an experience that will stay with the viewer beyond the run-time of the film. As a Black/Latino kid from the Bronx, movies were both an escape from his struggles as well as a window to the outside world. However as time went on, Zanin started to realize that most of the films I enjoyed did not represent people like him, especially biracial or multiracial individuals. This crisis of identity that led him to feel out of place in the world would later become the seed of inspiration for the content he would aspire to create. Stories that better represent people of color, emphasizing nuance, that don't cling to tone-deaf stereotypes, labels, or tropes often found in mainstream content. Zanin earned his associate degree in Media and Digital Film Production at Bronx Community College, becoming the first in his family to get a college degree. Before graduating, Zanin was awarded the first-ever Sol Negrin Memorial Award, sponsored by the International Cinematographers Guild (IATSE Local 600), for his work as a student leader. Zanin's thesis film, Antithesis, won 1st Place at the 25th Annual Bronx Community College Film and Video Festival; where he was also awarded the Chairperson's Award and the Peter J. Rondinone Memorial Award for his filmmaking and academic achievements.
