Gurmeet Brar

Gurmeet Brar is an award winning writer, director and producer in Indian film industry .He was born and brought up in Indian province of Punjab. An NCERT New Delhi and Punjab University alumni , a post-grad in English Literature and Counselling Psychology, Gurmeet Brar is a prolific writer and recipient of Jewel of India Award and has been conferred Gurmukh Singh Musafir Award , the highest literary award of Govt. of Punjab for his contribution to the art . Prior to turning as a film maker he has authored three literary books which were well received by the readers. He has been an ad film maker since a decade. He has completed some commercial film making contracts with the state government and he had produced and directed some music videos also.His directorial debut Hijrat(2018) has been critically acclaimed across the globe . Hijrat(2018) has brought laurels in almost two dozen international film festivals in India, United Kingdom,Norway and Ireland .The film has been awarded Special Jury Award in ISFF London, debut director's Golden Fox Trophy in CICFF Calcutta, best director and best film award in IFFSG film festival and best director award in Rajasthan International Film Festival(RIFF) . His next two project are at pre-production stage.
