Aixa Kay is a Saudi Canadian actor and writer. She is one of seven children born to a nuclear physicist and a children's author. At the age of 19 she published a collection of short stories in Arabic and joined the editorial team of Hayat Magazine for Girls. She has an MA in Creative Writing from Portland State University and was the head-writer for Um Elhala, a prime-time sitcom that appeared in MBC1 in 2010. In 2013, she moved to Vancouver, BC to pursue acting, appearing in Unreal (s4) and as lead in two award winning shorts: Aperture and I'm Sorry. In Jasmine Road (2020), she performs her first lead role in a full length feature. She is a belly-dance enthusiast, performing on stage as part of Ya Helwa's annual event in 2019.
