Margaret Thanos is a Greek-Australian director and actress for theatre and film, who is most passionate about making intersectional feminist works. Margaret has directed A Grain of Sand KXT, The Goat, or Who is Sylvia?, Jim Got Shot and Project XXX (SUDS) and her short film Sugar High was shortlisted for the Sydney Film Festival 48 Hour Film Fest. In 2022, Margaret is excited to be directing three stage shows and two screen projects. Her acting credits include: Beautiful Things (Short 2022), Dear Australia (Spark Youth Theatre 2021), Screen Shot (Short 2021), Twinemies (2021), Spider in My Soup (Shopfront Artslab 2018/2019 and Bondi Feast 2019), My Creatures (Tricky Feet Theatre Company 2018), Intersection: Chrysalis (ATYP/Griffin 2018), No Exit (SUDS), Caligula (SUDS), Grenadine (SUDS) and Kill Climate Deniers (SUDS). In 2020, Margaret was a part of Montague Basement's Laboratory Program and in 2021 she was a part of ATYP's Fresh Ink. Margaret is also an activist, with a particular focus on gender equality and climate change. She is one of Plan International's Youth Activists and is also involved with a number of other organisations that are helping to make the world a better place. Her production company Queen Hades productions works to find the intersections between activism and art.
