Tim McMillan is acoustic fingerstyle guitarist from Melbourne, Australia. He has performed with various lineups of his original project since 2006 and is now based in Berlin, Germany, regularly touring in a duo with his violinist/songwriting partner Rachel Snow. After completing a Bachelor of Music at Monash University, Melbourne, Tim joined Australian folk group Naked Raven for their 'Never Quite' European tour (2006). During this time McMillan was signed to Berlin independent label T3 Records and released his debut original album 'Afterparty'. Performing a concert opening for Al Di Meola at the Dachauer Musiksommer in 2010, Tim was offered to participate in an 'artist in residence' program by the city of Dachau, Germany. This led to Tim basing himself permanently in Germany while touring frequently around Europe throughout the year, and Australia during the beginning of each year. McMillan has released five albums with T3 Records - Afterparty (2007), 2.13 (2009), Angel (2011), Wolves of Stünz (2014) and Hiraeth (2017), which all feature a mixture of solo guitar, full band and guest collaborations. He was listed as one the top 25 guitarists in Australian Guitar Magazine's 100th issue 2015, won 'Maton Young Guitarist of the Year' (1997), and has been an endorsee of Cole Clark Guitars since 2008. Aside from his original work Tim has also been actively involved with Californian rock group Ugly Kid Joe during their 'Uglier Than They Used ta Be' and 'America's Least Wanted Anniversary' tours in Europe and Australia between 2015-2017, as opening act and guest musician. Tim has regularly performed with Ugly Kid Joe frontman Whitfield Crane in various projects including Richards/Crane (UK/Germany 2016), Orchestra of Doom (Italy 2016), Ugly Kid Joe acoustic (Germany 2015) and Tim McMillan trio (Italy 2016). Other support/session work includes: Opening for Mass Mental (Electric Ballroom, London 2016) - funk/rock project including Whitfield Crane, Metallica's Rob Trujillo, Kyuss' Brant Björk, Motörhead's Phil Campbell and Skindred vocalist Benji Webbe. Guest guitarist and opening act for German metal band Emil Bulls during their 2015 'Candlelight tour', and guitarist on their acoustic album 'XX'. Recording collaborations with Motörhead guitarist Phil Campbell, Mr Bungle saxophonist Bär McKinnon, Sister's of Mercy guitarist Chris Catalyst, Sevendust/Hed PE guitarist Sonny Mayo and Melbourne musician 'I Built the Sky'.
