Begin his career as a photographer, Rohit Vishwakarma is a filmmaker, cinematographer, photographer and assistant director from Bombay. His first writing experiment, romantic drama forerunner, is a short film about missed opportunities in a rain-soaked and jazz-infused Bombay city. He has written, directed and shot two short films, Peerun, Adapted from Saadat Hasan Manto's Book Bombay chronicles. It is set in the vibrant world of mid-century pre-independence 1940s Bombay. A few non-fiction stories from Manto's life in a Bombay chawl revolve around Brij Mohan - Manto's roommate and Peerun, a Parsi girl. His second short film, chronicles of Shree, is a satire on society that showcases the story of an aspiring male Bharatnatyam dancer struggling with his sexual identity and his dream of becoming a Bharatnatyam dancer.
