Sasika Herath is a Sri Lankan movie director who made his debut with the upcoming film "Sihina Sammekarana," which is set to release in June 2023. Born in Kurunegala, Sri Lanka in 1985, Herath learned his craft at several media and film academies in his home country. Herath began his career in the industry as an assistant director and occasionally worked as a camera operator. He contributed as an assistant director in various teledramas such as "Flying Bullets" directed by Anurudda Jayashinghe and "One Way" directed by Lalith Rathnayake. He also directed an episodic TV drama called "Dinuma" in 2016, which showcased his directorial skills. In 2011, Herath made his first short film, "Hadasakki," which was selected as one of the top 10 movies by a leading film institute in Sri Lanka, the Sri Lanka Foundation Institute. He then went on to direct a couple of home video films, "Manchu" and "Ahasata Pinumak," in 2017 and 2018, respectively. Dream Equations marked his feature debut as a director, and he has also directed several other films, including "Eka Dawasaka Api," "Maa," "Game," and "Sihina Sammekarana." Herath's works reflect his unique style and showcase his ability to bring out the best in his actors, making them stand out on screen.
