Tim Baylar is a Turkish-American actor, director, writer and model born on July 11, 2000 in San Francisco, CA to two Turkish immigrants, his father is from Istanbul and his mother is from Bursa. Tim first started acting in school plays at the San Francisco Waldorf School from first to third grade because it was mandatory that students would participate in a new play every year. His parents saw his talent in acting and tried to have him audition for commercials while he was in elementary school, however Tim was not able to book any commercials since he was camera shy. When Tim was a junior in high school he decided he wanted to become a filmmaker when he took a video production class at his high school. He made one short film with his friends titled "The Vending Machine" which motivated Tim to act when he acted in the film and his teacher complimented his acting. When Tim told his father he wanted to become an actor, his father told him about his friend who was an acting teacher. Tim began acting once more in December 2017 when he attended Film Acting Bay Area, an acting school in Emeryville, CA, and was mentored by award winning director, writer, actor, and biochemist Celik Kayalar. Tim started to act as background characters for Netflix's 13 Reasons Why and The OA until he landed the lead role in director Zhou Ye's Sci-Fi short film, Trapped. Tim has starred in multiple other lead roles and supporting roles in film and television in the Bay Area and his films have been shown in numerous film festivals.
