Joseph Woodlief is an American actor, singer, and instrumentalist. Joseph feels at home on stage or on set, regardless of the role. Joseph began his acting career on the stage of Amelia Community Theatre as Little Billy (a wise man in the nativity scene) and James (grandson of Mack) in 2014 in a theatrical production of Fruitcakes by Julian Wiles. Since that time Joseph has starred in several theater and musical theater productions, such as "Once on this Island" (Daniel), "Curious Incident of the Dog in the Nighttime" (Christopher), "Bad Ideas for Bad Television Shows" (NBC Producer), "13 the Musical" (Archie), "Monologue Show from H.E. Double Hockey Sticks" (Bradley), "Fiddler on the Roof" (Avram the Bookseller/Bottle Dancer), "Shrek the Musical" (Pinocchio), "Seussical the Musical, Jr." (Horton), "The Little Mermaid, Jr." (Prince Eric), as well as several others. Joseph studies voice with Devin Clevenger, owner of ClevengerCreationsMT and participates in two voice recitals each year, May and December. Joseph studies piano with Gail McCamy and participates in a piano recital every May. He also participates in piano Guild Auditions, where he's earned excellent and superior ratings. He played synthesizer in the musical productions of "Jesus Christ Superstar" and "Xanadu" at Amelia Musical Playhouse. Besides the piano, Joseph also plays the guitar (acoustic and electric), the ukulele (soprano and baritone), and dabbles a bit with percussion for fun. Joseph has studied acting with Devin and Elizabeth Clevenger of ClevengerCreationsMT, and Jason Radcliffe and Jenifer Jett of Tandem Media. He studied improvisation with Devin Clevenger. He has participated in vocal master classes with Mamie Parris, Jefferson Carson and Scott Logsdon. Joseph has also participated in Broadway Bootcamp at ClevengerCreationsMT with Mamie Parris, Erik Christensen, and Katie Ladner. Joseph got his first taste of film early in 2018 with Tandem Media in the true story of Tim White, "End of the Road" as Mark, a troubled teen and friend of Tim White. Later in 2018, he was also in a short film turned feature length, "Last Gambit" (Tate) with Tandem Media. Joseph attends high school at Florida Virtual School Full-time (FLVS-FT), where he is a member of the National Honor Society, and was named Sophomore Student of the Year 2018/2019 during FLVS-FT Shark Week. He has the flexibility to perform and participate in theater and film, even if they take him away from home, because his school travels with him wherever he goes. Outside of acting, singing, and playing instruments, Joseph is a Japanese Shotokan Karate Black Belt, studying with Sensei Jerry Williamson of Jerry Williamson Martial Arts. He has been trained in weaponry and combat for his discipline. He also enjoys all forms of technology (creating and using), cycling (on the road and off road), and hanging out with friends.
