Caroline Baxter is an actor, writer and filmmaker born (1997) and raised in Chicago, Illinois. Caroline received dramatic acting training from the Atlantic Theater Acting School through NYU's Tisch School of the Arts and comedic training at The Second City Chicago throughout high school where she performed in numerous youth shows and wrote/performed her own work. She graduated with a B.A. in Media Arts Production: Screenwriting (Magna Cum Laude; Gold Key Honor Society Top 5% of Class), from Emerson College in 2020. Caroline has additional filmmaking training from the Film and TV School of the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague and the University of Southern California's Cinematic Arts Program. "Caroline has imagination and empathy and a strong sense of the majesty that theater can achieve. I think she'd be a fantastic addition to any rehearsal room because she is so smart, and a true believer, and a real artistic soul. She knows MYTHOS. She loves mystery, and the numinous. This is the seat of her special gift. I feel with Caroline that there is so much inside- a whole universe of passion and imagination... others can benefit from it and ride it with her" (Anya Saffir, Director/Atlantic Theater Acting School). Her first acting role was at the age of 7 where she played an asteroid in a grade school production of "Hair" singing "Aquarius." After that, she was in various school productions, played 2nd chair violin in youth orchestra, and was a prominent member of the xylophone orchestra. Growing up, Caroline was in youth rodeos where she learned to wrangle horses at dawn, rope and race keyhole in addition to playing many sports, including field hockey, lacrosse, rock climbing and was the only girl in her town's boys little league baseball, becoming the first female all-star pitcher in the league. She played tennis and soccer for nearly 15 years, competing at national and state levels, winning 2nd in state in both sports, and received invitations to play soccer in Italy with women's US youth teams. After sustaining a severe ankle injury her Junior year of high school, Caroline found herself in a theatre intensive semester and has been steadfastly committed to her craft ever since. In 2016, she was featured in MoveOn's Laughter Trumps Hate campaign hosted by Nik Dodani of Netflix's "Atypical" (2017-2021) and Sony's "Escape Room" (2019) at Zanie's Comedy Club Chicago. Since then, she has acted in over 30 short films and various theatrical productions. Caroline continues to build a versatile body of work, intelligently balancing drama and comedy. Notable work includes: "Crank" (2018): a Czech language short film written, directed, produced, and edited by Caroline about a Czech mother and son who fight to escape a tragic ending together on their post-communist bathroom floor; Woman in "For Your Consideration" (2019): a short experimental film by Caroline where she plays a variety of different characters exploring the cycle of anguish and survival as a young artist in our world today; Sofia in "Artist in Residence" (2020): a fictional narrative where Caroline completely transformed herself to represent the grime and grit of a female art heist leader from Southie, raised by mafia men, who orchestrated the infamous Isabella Stewart Gardner Heist in Boston, MA; Brandi Chastain's Assistant Coach in "Little Angels" (2022): a feature film inspired by true events written and directed by Dean Cain where they lead a little girls' soccer team to victory. You won't find Caroline on social media because she believes it's extrinsic to human nature, so listen in the wind, align yourselves with the rhythm of nature, and you may hear her singing sweet melodies on the piano, guitar, ukulele or violin, or head to a mountain and catch a glimpse of her ripping by on skis, climbing or hiking her way to the gods above.
