Theodosia enjoys an active career as a Soprano, Oboe/English Horn player, and Composer internationally. She has played with orchestras including the Los Angeles Philharmonic, Boston Philharmonic, Tucson Symphony and studio orchestras at Warner Brothers, Sony, EastWest Studios, and Coachella. She recently recorded oboe, English horn and composed original melodies for the film "The Last Black Man in San Francisco" with composer Emile Mosseri, and soprano vocals for Miranda July/Plan B's film "Kajillionaire." She performs frequently at venues including Hollywood Bowl, Walt Disney Concert Hall, and The Forum. Theodosia has enjoyed performing under the baton of James Conlon, Placido Domingo, Carl St. Clair, and John Harbison. Theodosia starred as Maria in West Side Story with USC in 2018, and again at Songfest with conductor Michael Barrett and Jamie Bernstein narrating. Theodosia made her solo vocal debut in 2015 with the Phoenix Symphony singing contemporary Greek songs, and was a featured soloist of the 2017 European Union Cultural Capital in Pafos. This season's engagements include roles in The Industry's new opera Sweet Land, and an opera premiere with Four Larks opera productions in May where she will be showcased as an improvising soprano and oboe/EH player. This season Theodosia will be premiering her original opera Polymnia, commissioned by the UCLA Stavros Niarchos Center for the Study of Hellenic Culture, as well as a solo cello work for Jake Saunders at CU Boulder, and Sappho Songs for the L.A. Camerata. Other projects include a recording project with Hocket piano duo, TV scoring for Homecoming with Emile Mosseri, folk/improvised music performances with Mantis Duo, and Saari Composition Residence with Tuomas Kettunen in Finland. Theodosia's passion for contemporary music has lead to premiere performances at REDCAT, and fellowships at Banff Center for Creativity, Bang on a Can Festival, soundSCAPE, and Songfest collaborations with Jake Heggie and Libby Larsen. Theodosia has collaborated with contemporary music specialists Claire Chase of ICE Ensemble, Steve Schick, Mark Stewart, Nick Photinos, Bang on a Can All-Stars, David Lang, Julia Wolfe, John Harbison, John Luther Adams, George Lewis, Miya Masaoka, Peter Evans, among many more. Theodosia has played oboe and English horn for stars including Ariana Grande, Josh Groban, Il Divo, Herbie Hancock, Wayne Shorter, Joshua Bell, Jackson Browne, Ingrid Michaelson, Weird Al, John Stamos, and Dionne Warwick. In 2016, Theodosia performed a concert tour that raised $26,000 for Greek non-profits during the economic crisis, culminating in a solo recital at the Presidential Palace of Cyprus. Theodosia holds two Master of Music degrees from USC in Oboe and Vocal Arts, an Artist Diploma from Oberlin Conservatory in Oboe, and a Double Bachelor's from UCLA in Oboe Performance and Comparative Literature. She is a member of USC Pi Kappa Lambda Music Honors Society, and was awarded special honors from the USC Woodwind, Composition and Edge Ensemble Departments. At UCLA Theodosia graduated cum laude, was inducted into Phi Beta Kappa and Mortar Board Honors Societies, and earned the Chancellor's Service Award. Theodosia is a frequent guest lecturer at her alma maters and enjoys teaching privately in Los Angeles.
