Shaelynn (Shae) Elise Poulin was born in Ottawa, Ontario and grew up in Stittsville, Ontario. She has always been passionate about the arts, taking a special interest in photography, theatre, and film. After discovering her true passion from editing school video projects, Shae then went on to study Film Production at Vancouver Film School and direct films with her classmates and friends.
