Monty Wolfe

Monty Wolfe was born in Center, Texas and raised on a farm outside Shreveport, Louisiana. His love of film started early but there were few film opportunities in the Southern United States at the time, so Monty honed his skills outside the industry, putting together experimental films and working in television news. In the mid-2000's, Monty claims to have seen a vision that informed him to move to the Pacific Northwest. He promptly sold all his belongings and, along with his dog Starbuck, moved to Portland, Oregon. There, he attended Portland State University School of Film and earned a Bachelor of Arts in Film. Growing up gay in rural Texas and Louisiana gave Monty Wolfe a unique outsider perspective that he brings to his nostalgic yet satirical award-winning films.
