Al Ortega is a Colombian actor based in Los Angeles, California. After his parents denied him any possibility to skip school to join a local circus as he wished, Al created his own kid's theater show in 2002 where he started playing different characters for the first time in front of an audience. Later he joined his high school's theater club and at the same time started writing and filming fictional stories with his mom's Sony Digital8 Handycam Camcorder, through that camera he discovered a new passion: filmmaking. After he finished high school in 2007, at age 17, Al moved out to Bogota, Colombia's capital city and started his professional acting training for three years. On 2011 he joined college and successfully completed the 4 year degree program of 'Direction and Production of Radio and Television'. Joined The Groundlings Theatre and School to be part of the 'Intro to Improv' workshop, the Hollywood Academy of Music and Arts (HAMA) and from 2019 is an active member of the Actors Workout Studio receiving Meisner Training. Al Ortega recently booked his first supporting role for a feature film and is playing the lead in three different short films, all upcoming 2020 projects.
