Un documental que sigue a EE. UU., la obra experimental de Peter Brook sobre los problemas morales que rodean la guerra de Vietnam, Benefit of the Doubt es el único registro cinematográfico conocido de la producción de la Royal Shakespeare Company. Fue filmada por Peter Whitehead al mismo tiempo que Tonite Let's All Make Love in London (1967), aparentemente una película muy diferente, pero ambas comparten una preocupación central por la guerra, las protestas y la relación política y cultural de Gran Bretaña con Estados Unidos.
