Rebuild of Evangelion Collection

The Earth is an apocalyptic wasteland: destructive creatures known as "Angels" never stop wreaking havoc. On Japan, in the fortified city of Tokyo-3, a teenager named Shinji is taken to the headquarters of NERV, an organisation led by his estranged father, Gendou. He asks Shinji to pilot an "Evangelion", a giant android capable of fighting these monstrosities. Though reluctant after not seeing his father for so long, Shinji enters the battlefield as the pilot of Evangelion Unit-01. This is the first of four films in the REBUILD version of the Neon Genesis Evangelion anime.

Under constant attack by Angels, NERV introduces two new pilots: the mysterious Makinami Mari Illustrous and the intense Asuka Langley Shikinami. Parallel to the incursion, Gendo Ikari and SEELE proceed the secret project that involves both Rei and Shinji.

14 years have passed since the near third impact. Most of the world has changed except Shinji Ikari who awakens, unaged in a new and strange environment. Misato has formed a group that is separate from Nerv. The fight is far from over but the biggest struggle might be against humans and former allies.

After the last battle, Shinji, Asuka, and Rei rest at a nearby village and take some time to reflect on what's happened so far in their afflicted lives. Meanwhile, Misato and her team at WILLIE prepare a last-ditch offensive against NERV before everything is destroyed (rebuilt). Taking almost a decade to be made, this anime is the final chapter of the rebuilt story version of EVANGELION, with a mix of 2D and 3D visuals, and it was critically acclaimed in Japan.
