The Hannibal Lecter film series is a collection of psychological thrillers based on the novels by Thomas Harris. The franchise began with The Silence of the Lambs, a critically acclaimed film that introduced Anthony Hopkins' iconic portrayal of the cannibalistic psychiatrist, Hannibal Lecter. The sequel, Hannibal, reunited Hopkins and introduced Julianne Moore as Clarice Starling. The prequel, Red Dragon, features Edward Norton as FBI agent Will Graham and a different interpretation of Lecter. While there are earlier adaptations of Harris' work, including Manhunter and Hannibal Rising, neither feature Hopkins.
