Based on true events, a historical drama about one man's struggle against the authorities that leads to a mutiny on the Soviet warship. Riga, 1975. Having lost faith in the Soviet authorities and military structure, a Captain Third Rank Valery Spagin, driven by communist ideals, decides to organize a mutiny on the frigate. By standing up against corruption, impunity, and the humiliation of ordinary people, he starts a riot that turns into something much bigger than he originally intended. Sablin's life in Riga, which portrays the view of the city and the prevailing mood through the eyes of a representative of the occupying power, makes him even more aware of the scale of injustice. Unwilling to experience international disgrace and permit the military ship to fall into hands of the West, the Soviet Union authorities decide to sink the ship together with its crew. Based on true events, the series follows the human struggle against invincible force vividly portraying various protagonist traits and values that, exposed to the pressure of political system, threaten life and the very existence.
