Russell (James Sweeny) meets the girl of his dreams, Mary (Megan Smart), then gets sucker punched by a mugger on his way home. A homeless duck, Louie (Travis Jeffery), comes to his defense and helps him get back to his sharehouse. Charismatic, caring, and a touch narcissistic, Louie sticks around to make sure Russell is alright. We'll never know if it was the beers, his hurt pride, or his mild concussion that caused Russell to forge a connection with Louie - but eight months after they spend a passionate night together, it's revealed that Russell is pregnant. Meanwhile, Russell's longtime housemate, Jacques, struggles to understand how he can help his proud, defensive friend, so further busies himself with his promising career as a professional clown. Based on Valentin Lang's stage-play, Domesticated tells the story of Russell who's life is put on hold when he falls pregnant after a regrettable fling with Louie the Duck. Russell's housemate, Jacques (Valentin Lang) attempts to support him, but Russell's struggling pride can't take his pity. With the three of them trapped in their symbiotic power-play, Domesticated looks at male friendships, vulnerability, and the misery of glamorizing the past while living for the future.
