During dinner with his usual friends, Santiago becomes ill and is rushed to the hospital. He later gets the worst news possible: he has a brain tumor and is going to die. This announcement will change his and his group of friends' lives forever, as they each learn to live their lives to the fullest and cherish every moment as if it were their last.
