Model Girls is the documentary that allows us to take part in the reality behind the scenes, which is characterized by hard demands and fixation on body and appearance. From the outside, they have a glamorous job, but to be constantly judged by how they look has a high price. One of the models we get to follow is Mona Johannesson, a face that can be seen on billboards at all the world's airports. She is one of Sweden's most successful and well-paid models in the last decade. Mona herself thrives best on her horse farm in the country outside Växjö, where no one suspects that it is a top model who walks around the grocery store in soft pants.
