May 1941. Leningrad. The family of 13-year-old Yura Alekseev becomes a bargaining chip in the multi-way operation of the NKVD. Yura's father dies in prison, the Chekists, in order to cover their tracks, kill the boy's mother. During the blockade, the grandmother dies, the younger sister, by hook or by crook, manages to be transported to the mainland. Three years later, Yuri, who has already passed the partisan detachment and the front, is imprisoned on false charges. A teenager has little choice: either turn into camp dust, or become a criminal authority. 1962 The recidivist thief Baron (aka Yuri Alekseev) skillfully robs rich apartments, primarily those who profited from the people's grief during the war. However, it is becoming more and more difficult to admit to people dear to him: to his beloved girl, sister, grandfather Stepan, that he is an ordinary criminal. There is only one way out: to serve your own time and start a new life from scratch.
