Can Cartel

Three misfit twenty-somethings (a struggling Australian actor, an Indian-American illegal immigrant, and a would-be entrepreneur in the form of a gay Winnipegian) become unlikely housemates as they ditch their past lives to chase their dreams in Vancouver, a land of opportunity and promise. But it's not the postcard they were sold - and the city falls short of their expectations, leaving them demoralized and broke. When a brilliant idea to hack the city's beverage refund scheme gives them hope of financial freedom, they attract the attention of a number of local unsavories, including a formidable crime syndicate - the Can Cartel.
