Blue Birds Island (2019)

After his mom confiscates the whole family's smartphones, obsessive vlogger Niki is in for the dullest summer vacation in his entire 12-year-long life. Ten days without Internet. On top of this, he has to care after his younger cousin Alex, who's driving him nuts with his childish nonsense. Boredom, however, turns out to be a mirage as the two cousins unwillingly get involved with the search of a mythical pirate treasure. Legend has it that it's buried on the Blue Birds Island - a mysterious piece of land just off the coast, which is both off-limits to the public and inaccessible without a boat. The cousins learn that the hard way as Alex nearly drowns trying to reach it. Luckily, Niki is spared from explaining his cousin's tragic demise to his parents, when 12 y.o. scuba diver and sea lioness Gabriela rises from the deep to rescue Alex and capture Niki's undying affection. Even though against his will, Alex finds his own personal adorer on the part of 9 y.o. dreamer Zoe, who's on a mission to prove that the extinct species of blue bird that used to live on the island is now back. But who has time for birds when a treasure is waiting to be found? The stakes go up with the arrival of ol' pirate Germignac, who - unlike the boys - has a boat and will surely beat them to the island. The cousins find an ally in Armando, another 12-year-old spending his summer holidays working with his mother in the local restaurant. He plans to get rich and save his mom and himself from their mean manager. Will the kids find the treasure before the scary pirate does? Will they keep their friendships, loves - and lives?
