It's 1893 and the island Kingdom of Hawai'i is under attack. The queen is held prisoner by the leaders of the new Republic, sons of Christian missionaries emboldened by greedy American imperialism. The last hope for Hawai'i is the queen's niece, Victoria Ka'iulani, a half-Scottish beauty and heir to the throne. Educated in Europe as a royal princess, Ka'iulani is the focus of international intrigues and the pawn of governments. She is courted by the princes of Europe and offered as a means of alliance to the Crown Prince of Japan.
