BREAKIN FOR GOLD is a documentary series about the historic debut of breakin (a.k.a. breakdancing) at the Paris '24 Olympics. It covers the history of breakin from its inception through the birth of hip-hop, to the unusual turn of events that made it the first dance form to premiere in the Olympics. We follow the personal stories of breaker hopefuls from around the globe, from the largest cities to remote villages, as they take on the greatest challenge of their lives -- to win Olympic gold. It's a Cinderella story of how a street dance became a part of the greatest global sporting event in the world and a testament to the global impact of hip-hop culture. The series also provides an honest insight to the grueling reality of what it takes for a new sport and its athletes to debut at the Olympics.
