The series lightly touches on interpersonal themes concerning teenage identity, friendship and self-esteem. There are also themes concerning mankind's reliance on A.I. technology vs. the inner creative soul when it comes to music.

Angela is portrayed as being very rude and arrogant and often makes threats for things to go her way.

It is revealed that Carole is an orphan.
