Boots and Trenches

When Leland, a seventeen- year-old trench coat kid whose grades qualify him for the best schools in the world, arrived at school on April 20, 1992, he did not expect to be confronted with the brutal realities of the Columbine massacre. He was also not prepared to accept proxy responsibility for the actions of the shooters. In a world where being different has already made him a target, Leland is thrust into a new world where hypocrisy and non-acceptance are rampant, and forgiveness and understanding are no where to be found. Accompanied by his friend, a Juggalo named Marty, Leland attempts to navigate the awkwardly funny and hypocritical new world that he finds himself in.
