Riacho Doce  (1990)

The couple Carlos and Eduarda arrive at this small fisherman village in the northeast of Brazil, where he is in charge of rescuing the mysterious cargo of a sunken ship. Eduarda feels a magical connection to this place full of light and specially to Nô, a handsome local man who's grandmother is viewed as a type of sorcerer. She is preparing Nô to inherit her knowledge and powers an thus "closed his body", making him indifferent to love, despite being the heartrob of most women in town. But this will change when Eduarda and Nô fall for each other, unleashing a series of dramatic events and complex sentiments. The story is based on the homonymous bestselling novel by José Lins do Rego.
